How do I prepare 50g capsaicin 0.025% in Beeler Basis?

capsaicin (1%) According to our computer program Capsici extractum liquidum (1%). We have received 2% of the wholesale Capsici extractum liquidum normatum. How much should we now weigh?

Answer

I think there is meant to be a cream with 0.25 mg capsaicinoide per 1g cream. This is a common concentration in the German formulary. The other are 0.5 and 1mg per 1g cream.

For the preparation of these creams they use a capsaicin powder with a content of minimum 90% total capsaicins. They prepare an ethanolic solution with this powder to 1% capsaicin. Per 50 g cream 0.025% They add 1.25 g of the 1% ethanolic solution.

The supplier of the Extractum Normatum confirms that the content = 2% total capsaicins.

So should of this extractum normatum 0.625 g be used for 50g cream.

May come in the TMF 2 ° Part a gel with capsitic. This would contain 0.5 g capsitic extractum liquidum normatum (or Oleoresina). This is therefore in line with your preparation.
