How to make: Hydrocortisone acetate 2 G propylene glycol 20 g ethanol 95 GR 100 ml Aqua dist AD 200 ml

problem: hydrocortisone acetate dissolves in propylene glycol and ethanol (pure) after heating but strikes back down after adding aqua and cooling. Can you solve this through excipients, or do we need to find another solution?

Answer

(elaborated by pharmacist Wendelen)
even with a quantity of 40 g PG and 100 ml ethanol the solution remains only clear until adding 50 ml of water. After that, a fine precipitation, which after adding PG was practically no longer to get away. My conclusion: preparing preferably to run without water but skin doctor did not agree.
Conclusion: Hydrocortisone acetate is replaced by Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% and there are no more problems manifesting.
