Question
Posted on: March 6 2013I get a recipe for a rovamycin syrup for a 7kg baby with toxoplasmosis? How do I proceed?
Answer
Spiramycin is only available in the form of rovamycin tablets with 1.5 million IU spiramycin. For a baby weighing 7 kg, the dosage is 0.5 to 1 Milj IU per day in 2 or 4 donations. If we use 5 tablets per 100 ml, the administration is 2 x per day 5 ml or 4 X per day 2.5 ml.
taking into account the masking of the bitter taste and a pH > 4 and R/Rovamycine 5 tablets
xanthan gum 200mg
Raspberry syrup up to 100ml
after finging the tablets, the coating layer of the tablets can be removed by sieves.
