Is it possible to prepare a dermaticum that contains 10% magnesium sulfate?

Answer

Magnesium sulfate is not easy to incorpate in different cream bases. The high ion concentration is detrimental to the emulsion stability. It is said that magnesium chloride causes less problems.

Carbomeer is incompatible with Mg 2 + so that in the choice of a gel base it will have to be opted for a non-iongenic gels earlier. I would prefer Hydroxyethylcellulose, which is known for its great resistance to electrolites. The samesncount of a hydroxyethylcellulose gel is found in the booklet Galenic Formularium.
