Is it really necessary to use the racemic mixture of amphetamine sulfate to prepare these eyedrops? Or can we also use amphetamine sulfate D?

Reaction (because of Apoth. W. Borghys, Middelheim Hospital) In Our hospital, they use amphetamine Collyre for this indication: R/Amphetamine sulfate (racemic!) 0.1 g Boric acid 165mg Benzalkonium chloride 1mg Aqua purificata up to 10 ml F. Collyre 10 ml To be prepared using membrane filtration 0.2 μm; Custody if unopend for 1 year. The use of amphetamine is an alternative to Benzedrine (or hydroxyamfetamine HBr) 1% collyre (or Paredrine Collyre) Given this product is not in stock in Belgium. Answer

still a peculiar question there between the amphetamines, which I find in the commodity suppliers, only the racemic Mixture is available.   When using the D form, 75% of the prescribed dose should be used.
