A magijet alternative to Otic Domeboro, ear drops for divers.

The found composition is as follows: Acetic acid 2%, water, aluminum acetate, sodium acetate, boric acid.
I had thought to dissolve acetic acid and boric acid in 1/10 bus rowsolution. But 2% acetic acid seems to me a lot? What concentration of acetic acid and boric acid do you propose?

Answer

Known are Al-acetotartraat ear drops 1.2% prepared from a kind Burow to 12% Al-Acetotartraat. With us, the Burow contains about 10% Al-Acetotartraat. So a dilution 1/10 is OK.

as far as acetic acid is concerned, there is a formula for sour ear drops with 0.75% acetic acid. So 1% seems to be an acceptable concentration. For boric acid I would take 3%.

This will of course give quite sour droplets. Maybe too sour? Compared to the found composition is missing after-acetate. I would adjust the pH of those ear drops with NaHCO3 to 4 &agreve; 4.5. This is then formed after acetate.
