Precipitation in a solution of CuSO4 and ZnSO4: CuSO4 0.1 g ZnSO4 0.1 g after borate 1g boron acid 1g AQUA AD 100ML

CuSO4 and ZnSO4 were dissolved in a part water and after borate and boron acid in a 2nd part water. When merging both, a precipitation occurs.

Answer

The preparation mode followed is correct. But the precipitation is wanted. This solution is called "Blue Water" and used as an eye bath. The two solutions should be separately sterilized and given the relatively large volume of autoclaving is the most practical method. One of the two solutions is filled in a bottle of 100ml. After autoclaving and cooling the 2 bottles, the second solution is quickly put into the 100ml bottle, which is then immediately closed.
