Preparation of a water paste.

With the classic water paste, water remains on the surface. I would now like to make the improved water paste according to Prof. Kinget. I just don't know how to start it. Do I have to make the cattle gum dispersion separately with warm water or can I use the 25g water from the recipe? Does the Na-CMC swell in the Veegum dispersion?

Answer

The composition you refer to and which is contained in the Galenic Formularium is not really a water paste but is a skin covering lotio. The composition is taken from FN 6. You can indeed mix all mucous compounds with the mixture ZnO and talc and then rub it with glycerin. This paste can then be diluted with freshly boiled water in which 100mg of Nacitrate is dissolved as well as the preservatives.
