A suspension visceuzer made with Hydroxypropylcellulose gives problems salicylic acid 3% sulfur 3% sulpho resorcinol 3% camphor 1% aerosil 1% tween 80 50mg isopropanol 14ml

AQUA AD 100ml < br/> I followed the recommendations of the question box and added HPC 2% to the preparation. The merging of Sulphur, Aerosil, and HPC succeeds, but when adding boiling water I obtained a & #039; chewing gum-like & #039; Mass in which I cannot rub the mixture of SZ + camphor + tween + isopropanol. Is the lack of Veegum or bentonite, also mentioned on the question box, a big mistake in this?
on the other hand, on your site, I find another similar suspension for which there is no opt for HPC and the kind of companions due to sticky. Could it be a solution to prepare HPC water mixture in advance and consider this as the water part? If HPC is replaced by NaCMC then we do not obtain a nice suspension.

Answer

The problems you are experiencing are due to the presence of resorcine, which is probably incompatible with HPC. Daaarom I would like it at mineral viscosities increasing fabrics such as Veegum or Collo ^ iuml; descend SiO2. Given this last product in the composition, I would increase the concentration of Aerosil to 2 à 3%.
