Is there a formula for suppositories with erythromycin (succin, propion)? Is there rectal recording?

Answer

I notice that, as far as I am informed, only erythromycin in bulk is available in the pharmacy.
I take over the abstract of a study on this subject.
TI: Bioavailability studies on erythromycin administered by rectal and oral routes
AU: Pozzi-E; Ferrara-A; Sardi-A; Berti-MA; Coppi-G
AD: Proter S.p.A., Via Lambro 38, 20090 Opera, Milan, Italy
SO: Curr-Ther-Res (Current-Therapeutic-Research); 1982; 31 (APR); 530-535
AB: Bioavailability studies were carried out in 24 healthy men, following single 250 mg doses or Erythromycin base, administered as suppositories in combination with Tiopronin (Mucolysin Antibiotic) or as enterosoluble tablets (E-Mycin). The area under the plasma concentration time curve following Suppository administration was not significantly different from that obtained after administration of the enterosoluble tablet. The maximum serum levels were similar, but the rectal administration gave a more rapid absorption. It was concluded that the rectal route of administration of erythromycin may be useful when the oral one is not practicable.
