The TMF uses lactose as a filler for capsules containing sulpiride. Is there no Maillard reaction here?

Other substances that should be incompatible with lactose are: aminophylline, amphetamine sulfate, Ergotaminetartraat, fluoxetine, folic acid, Vit B12, minocyclineHCl and tetracyclineHCl. Hopefully this list is correct?

Answer

The Maillard reaction is not easy
  1. basically responding primary and secondary amines;
  2. Sulpiride is a tertiary amine and does not react;
  3. but I have recently learned that Finasteride and fenytoine é have é n or several electron sucking C = O groups and therefore react to a very small extent;
  4. protonation, as with all the salts, which you mention, inhibits or reduces the Maillard reaction. In solution This is of course dependent on the size of the fraction non-geionized. In an acidic solution, little Maillard reaction will occur.
