We get occasional prescriptions of fluphenamine acid gel 5%.

We try to deal with the same formula as the 3% fluphenamine acid gel (Klucel). While adding the Hydroxypropyl cellulosic gel, the preparation is nevertheless cloudy yellow (homogeneous).

Answer

Try next water-free formula; Hopefully, they also manage for 5%.

fluphenamic acid 3.0 g Propylene glycol 12g Alcohol denatured with ether 82g Carbopol 980 3g

Preparation Mode

  • Tarreer A receptacle of 150 to 200 ml with lid
  • Place a magnetic rod on the bottom of the receptacle
  • weigh: 12g propylene glycol and 82g antisept opl. and mix
  • add slowly and stirring well 3g Carbopol 980
  • mix for 10 min at low speed
  • Remove the magnet rod and close the receptacle with the lid
  • Place the receptacle in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator for 2 hours
  • bring with degenerated alcohol weight taking into account the Tare
  • Place the closed receptacle in the freezer compartment for one night
  • let everything come to room temperature and add fluphenamic acid and mix to homogenous
