Which is the best method for following preparation: Polymyxin B 50 mg Chloramphenicol 50 mg Hydrocortisone acetate 50 mg propylene glycol 5 cc Aqua AD 8 cc DT 1 dropper bottle

Answer

Chloramphenicol can be dissolved in the propylene glycol; Hydrocortisone acetate does not, however, and is also insoluble in water. But we have to do here with a micronized powder. Consequently, it is rubbed with the solution of chloramphenicol in PG. After adding 3 ml of water in which the polymyxin was dissolved, a suspension of which the formed precipitate is easily agitated and remains sufficiently long in suspension.
