I am a pharmacy intern from Nova Southeastern University and I am currently working at the drug information center in West Palm Beach, Florida. We received a drug information question from a pharmacist in Ponce, Puerto Rico and she wanted detailed instuctions on how to compound methoxsalen suppositories from capsules Oxsoralen.
Answer in English please.

I am not very familiar with compounding in the US and even less in Puerto Rico ! I see only one small problem. 8-MOP might be soluble in the suppository base as it is a lipophilic product. This may result in a decrease of the solidification temperature. This all depends on the concentration. But it might be better than expected. Should the suppositories solidify at a temperature below 30°C a suppository base with a higher melting point is used.
