Question
Posted on: March 6 2013It is well known that it is better not to use lactose for the creation of folic acid and sulpiride capsules because of a possible Maillard reaction.
But specialties like eg. Dogmatil and Folavit do contain lactose in the excipiens. < br/>
Answer
(with the participation of Prof. Hoogmartens)
Sulpiride contains only a tertiary amine. Also for folic acid with a primary amine I consider the probability of reaction in solid, dry condition very low. The fabicants mentioned have no stability problems as expected.
