Question
Posted on: March 29 2018In the list of Max doses, chloropheniraminemaleate is not included but Dexchlorpheniraminemaleate does. What do I do
Answer
Bassron has recently deleted dexchlorpheniramine maleate (CNK 0321067) from its range. The best alternative we can offer you is Chlorpheniramine maleate. (= Chlorphenamine maleate). Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate is the right-rotating isomer (the D-form) of Chlorpheniramine maleate. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is the racemic mixture and contains 50% D-form and 50% L-form (this latter form is inactive). Hence, the necessary dose of chlorpheniramine maleate is twice as high as Dexchlorpheniramine maleate for the same activity (Martindale).
