Adrenaline 1% Eye drops are asked us on the basis of a prescription from a veterinarian; These should be used 3 times a day for a period of 4 to 6 weeks. Which formula is possible?

Can you possibly use the adrenalin Sterop? The composition of the adrenalin solution of Sterop is 0.8 mg epinephrine base or 1 mg epinephrine epinephrine hydrochloride per 1 ml. In addition: sodium chloride 8mg; Sodium metabisulfite 1mg; Hydrochloric acid ZAN and water for injections. This corresponds to the composition of the adrenaline solution of the Belgian Pharm VI. The Pharmacopoeia mentions that this is a highly acidic solution

Answer

Given the   adrenalin solution is acid, this light is not suitable as an eye drop. When Eyedrop is used neutralised epinephrine eye drops 1%.

The composition is: Adrenalinetartraat   182 mg; vitamin C 10   mg; borax   285 mg;   Nametabisulfite 30 mg and Aqua Conservans AD 10 ml.

pH = 7.4

Due to low stability, these eye drops should be stored in the refrigerator. The usage mine is here   2 weeks.
