Are there any stability studies on chloral hydrate PO solution?

The Belgian. Pharmacopoeia V mentions Chloralhydraatsyrup: chloralhydrate 50 g, water 50   g; coin syrup 900 g  

Dissolve the chloral hydrate in the water and mix. Must not be kept in stock.  

This last sentence indicates a short shelf life. From this syrup I cannot read publications on the shelf life by electronic means because possible stability studies were carried out at least   50 years ago. On the basis of an entry in the   Martindale I would suggest a shelf life of 2 months if stored in the refrigerator.
