In the Burns section, they use colistin powder (COLISTINEB) intended for IV use on GE ï nfected wounds. The powder is done on a compres and this goes on the wounds (2 vials per

Leg). Can colistin be processed in an ointment so that it can be made easier? And how much ointment do you need to lubricate 1 leg? < br/>

Answer

Perhaps best a mixture of Vaseline-liquid paraffin in a ratio 80/20 or 70/30. I would estimate that for a leg that needs to be rubbed fuller one needs about 50g of ointment. So quantities of 300g can meet for about 1 week.

I don't know how the reimbursement by the Health insurance Fund works in a hospital but maybe colistin sulfate is cheaper? If the doctor can agree?
