A Ca-gluconate gel with Tylose TMC.

We received the following composition for the preparation of a Ca-gluconate gel: 5g Ca-gluconate in 85ml of boiled demi-water dissolving, 10g add glycerin and 5g tylose TMC 600 in the warm opl let swell. Tylose TMC 600 is this methyl cellulose?

Answer

Tylose TMC 600 I have not been able to find, though Tylose MC 6000. It is indeed about methyl cellulose (MC). Usually the added figure indicates the viscosity of a 1 or 2% solution. So this is a high viscosity. This quality methyl cellulose will not be found in the market. In The best case you will find the middle viscosity (1500). I therefore advise you to replace methyl cellulose with HPMC 4,000.
