Can the ophthalmologist not just use this solvent as an eye drop?

An ampoule contains articainum HCl 72mg + epinephrine 0.0108 mg in AQUA AD INJ.

Answer

When reading the references, which I find about this product and its ophthalmological applications, I see that it is not without danger in ophthalmic use. It seems to give very strong anesthesia and I thought there was exceptionally also a loss of sight. It is not the most commonly used for local anesthesia. I would point out to the ophthalmologist that you do not want to take any responsibility. I see that 2% is a used concentration so for 10ml 200mg or rounded one would be able to make 1 ampoule of 5ml Eyedrop. 1 ampoule with sterile physiologic serum up to 5ml. Of course, a lower concentration is not excluded.
