Chlorhexidine cream with buffered or unbuffered Cetomacrogol cream?

The complete composition reads: Nystatin 100 000E/G-chlorhexidine 0.5%-zinc oxide 10%-buffered Cetomacrogol cream AD 100 g Due to an incompatibility between nystatin and zinc oxide, we replace zinc oxide with titanium oxide. We prepare the Cetomacrogol cream without sorbic acid due to incompatibility with chlorhexidine. Should the Cetomacrogol cream be unbuffered or do we better use the buffered Cetomacrogol cream without preservative?

Answer

I don't see the need for a buffer in it. On the contrary, perhaps chlorhexidine + may be incompatible with phosphate. So then but unbuffered Cetomacrogol cream. The pH is set by TiO2: A suspension of TiO2 is neutral for litmus
