A cream with hydroquinone and Ung Roche Posay as excipient breaks

The composition of the cream reads: Vitamin A acid 30 mg/ascorbic acid 60 mg/dexamethasone Acetate 30 mg/hydrochinon 1.7 g/ung Roche Posay ad 30 g We did have dexamethasone after phosphate used in the place of dexamethasone acetate

Answer

Hydroquina is incompatible with Polyoxyethyleenketens (POE) that occur e.g. in Pegs and in Polysorbate, the emulsifier of Ung Roche Posay. So there is a need for a cream base free of POE.

The susbstitution of Dexamthasone acetate by the water dissolving disodium phosphate is unfortunate, especially with a dermatological preparation! You had even better used dexamethasone
