Posted on: April 26 2017Edetaat Eye Drops FNA, 10 ml
Ophthalmologist's question Edetaat eyedrops FNA (formularium Dutch pharmacists) would be 0.4% di sodium Edetaat or 4 mg/ml. But the whole formula I have not found online.
Do we need to add another buffer, preservative?
Answer
R/Na2EDTA 400 mg, Benzalkonium chloride 10 mg, NaCl 720 mg; Borax 200 mg and water for injections up to 100 ml.
You will need to prepare a diluted solution of benzalkonium chloride since 10 mg cannot be weighed accurately.
You can filter the solution by a sterile membrane filer 0.2 micrometer and absorb it in a sterilized eyedropper vial.
