Filtration of a nacitrate solution 0.3 molar for filling by a 0.22 μ filter?

We have taken over the protocol for this preparation from another hospital, but it seems to me very little sensible to filter the solution since it is filled in a non sterile bottle and is taken orally anyway.

Answer

At one point I can follow you and this is that the use of a 0.22 micrometer membrane filter is not necessary. On the other hand, in order to meet the quality requirements of the Pharmacopoeia, each solution for delivery should be filmed to remove all unresolved and foreign substances so that the solution is clear and free of impurities.
