How can we best realise this preparation? Urea 5 Vaseline 20 Cetomacrogolcreme AD 100

Either one can process Vaseline cold (which is not easy, given the high quantity) or possibly grease stretching of the raw materials for cetomacrogolcreme but then one will probably have to adjust the formula.

Answer

If we put together the formulas of a good cetomacrogolcreme (see Galenic Formularium , TMF I do not think well) of a recently found Vaseline Cetomacrogol Cream and your formula then I come to the following findings:

  1. in the Cetomacrogol cream are the amounts as follows: cetostearyl alcohol = 7.2 g; cetomacrogol = 1.8 g, vaseline = 11.5 g and paraffin = 11.5 g
  2. in the Vaseline Cetomacrogol cream-in the same order-12; 3; 22.5; 12.5 g
  3. in your formula 5.4; 1.35; 8,625 + 20 = 28,625; 8.625 g

Conclusion for your preparation:

  1. reduction of the extra petroleum jelly = 20-6 = 14 and the subtracted 6g are 6g liquid paraffin. This then gives in the total preparation vaseline = 22,625 and liquid paraffin 8,625 + 6 = 14,625 g. These quantities approach the Vaseline Cetomacrogol cream.
  2. In addition, you add Cetostearylalcohol 12g, Cetomacrogol 3g and of course water up to 100g, in which urea can be dissolved. I assumed that you are not departing from the industrially prepared Cetomacrogol cream TMF.
