How to prepare a loco for Zinnat syrup

Since Zinnat syrup is lacking until the end of October, I would like to offer Magijet a full alternative, assuming the Zinnat tablets. . However, Glaxo uses a mixture of cefuroxime axetil (prodrug) and cefuroxime in both the syrup and the tablets. The Zinnat syrup is based on xanthan gum. Working with xanthan gum exipiens of Bassron might be appropriate. The stability of CEFUROXIMM is already relatively limited. The patient should be 3.5 ml Zinnat sir. 250 mg/5 ml 1 x daily. Not to compromise the stability of the Zinnat syrup, the granules were divided into 2 as well as the amount of water to be added. A dry version of the Syrpend exists also. I do not know yet whether flavourings have been added. Both bases exist in alkaline and sour middle. Cefuroxims itself is only active in acidic middle and is therefore recommended to take 10 min after the meal. .

Answer

Zinnat Syrup has the following composition  :   5 ml prepared suspension contains 250 mg cefuroxime under the form of Cefuroximaxetil.   -  The other ingredients in Zinnat are: stearic acid, saccharose, Tutti frutti aroma, kaliumacesulfam, aspartame, povidone K30, xanthan gum.

Zinnat tablets have the following composition:   Each tablet contains 250 or 500 mg cefuroxime under the form of Cefuroxime Axetil.     the other substances in Zinnat are: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, colloidal anhydrous silica, Hardened vegetable oil, hypromellose, propylene glycol, methylparahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, Opaspray M-1-7120J.

I find in the tablets meals excipients, which will swell in the presence of water so we should use a little viscous solution as a suspension vehicle. The fine making of the tablets will have to be done with care. If you have an electric coffee grinder I would use this unit. More than commendable, the powder obtained is too seven because I see that the tablets are coated and a coating is difficult to get fine.

I also note that the suspension still contains a flavour correction and sweetening agents. So................

As a suspendable medium I would use: xanthan gum 200 mg; Nasaccharinate 200 mg; Potassium Sorbate 150 mg; Citric acid 100 mg, sorbitol 4 G and water up to 100 ml.

of the "maneuvers", which are necessary for reimbursement I am not well informed. I think that reimbursement is possible since the administration form is not altered. I know that banana aroma is vergioed by the RIZIV but maybe   there are other possibilities. Even if it tastes bitter, you can add aspartame or nacyclamate. For aspartame one uses the double of the quantity of saccharin,   for cyclamate the tenfold quantity. But perhaps best to start with the beginning with half of the specified quantities.

Stability is limited to 1 month kept in the refrigerator.
