I am asked to prepare a solution with copper and zinc sulfate

R/COPPER SULFATE 0.2 g; ZINC SULFATE 0.2 g; BORIC ACID 2 G; BORATE 2 G; AQUA AD 200 ml

Answer

The formula, which you were handed over, corresponds to this of "blue Water" and which was first described in the NF V. The preparation is done by dissolving the copper and zinc sulfate in 100 ml purified water and the boric acid and In the remaining 100 ml of water. This in two separate bottles: 1 bottle of 100 ml and 1 bottle of 200 ml.   Just before the delivery, the contents in the bottle of 100 ml are poured into the bottle of 200 ml. A precipitation arises. The bottle with the precipitate is delivered to the patient labeled "Shake before Use". The main indication of this preparation is: Pyodermites and infected eczms. I suspect that compresses are being built here.
