I get a question from the Netherlands for XYLOPROCT ointment, which is no longer available. Is there a loco formula available?

Answer

(Thanks Apoth. P. Roekaerts)
The composition of Xyloproct is worded as follows: ZnO 8g; Alcetate 3.5 G; Hydrocortisone acetate 0.5 g; Lidoca ï NE 5g; Corn starch; Yellow petroleum jelly; Wool grease and liquid B. Paraffin Oil AD 100g

ZnO, corn starch, wool grease and petroleum jelly are constituents of the ZnO paste PB V. We try to achieve a good spreadable composition using this paste, which provides the advantage to leave an industrially prepared product in which ZnO was distributed in a solid way.

After some tests, the following ratio proves to be an ideal basis: 3 parts Yellow vaseline/2 parts liquid. Paraffin/3 parts ZnO paste.

for the total composition indicates this: hydrocortisone acetate 0.5 g; Alacetate 3.5 G; Xyloca ï NE 5g; ZnO Pasta 35g; Yellow Vaseline 35g and liquid paraffin to 100 g

cost price 16.12 Euro for 100 grams.

Note: In the excipient the liquid paraffin is replaced by liver tear oil Then one comes near Mitosyl or newderm.
