Posted on: May 18 2017I have a prescription with following preparation: Estradiol 0.06%, progesterone 2%, ethanol 90% ad100ml to be used on the scalp.
Estradiol is no longer available, but still the benzoate or the valerate, which is preferable? They are both not well soluble in ethanol, benzoate still the best. The recording is also different as estradiol. I also have reservations about the effectiveness of such a preparation.

I would use Estrogel, a transdermal gel with 0.06% estradiol, to which I would add the prescribed amount of progesterone.
