Is it possible to obtain a clear preparation for ' OIL WITH SALICYLIC ACID ' FN VI?

Answer

Composition:
Salicylic acid 2 G
antiseptic solution 10 g
MYRJ 52 10 g
Isopropyl (IPM) 35 g
Arachisolia to 100 ml
Comment:
when overrunning the Different components, the use and function of MYRJ 52 is unclear. After all, we have to do here with an alcoholic solution of salicylic acid that should be processed in an oil. The very low solubility of alcohol in oil could be increased by utilizing the technique of solubilisation and the alcohol to solubilize in the oil. For this, a W/O emulsifier and NOT an O/W emulsifier such as MYRJ 52 should be invoked. After all, MYRJ 52 is a polyethylene glycol stearate with 40 ethylene oxide groups. So very hydrophilic as evidenced by the HLB value of 17. Maybe a Myrj 45 with an HLB value of 11 is eligible?

a second question, which can be argued, is the necessity of antiseptic solution? It Is not better and certainly simpler to try to dissolve the salicylic acid in the IPM and a suitable oil. Taking into account the use of this preparation on the skull skin for the treatment of "milk scabs" it may be appropriate to utilize sweet almond oil instead of the viscous arachisolie.

Custom formulation:

Salicylic acid 2 G
IPM 45 g
Sweet Almond oil up to 100 ml
release salicylic acid at moderate heat in IPM and then add the sweet almond oil to 100 ml.

The result is a Clear specimen.
