miconazole in oral gel

Daktarin oral gel missing supplier. Miconazole stating base in the formula. Only miconazole nitrate available in bulk product. Can this also be used in the oral formula? Don't immediately find an answer in the literature

Answer

Miconazole base is a new reference in the Magis Pharma portfolio and may be available.

However, if this is also not available, you have little choice but to use miconazole nitrate.

It remains possible to give your gel a slightly alkaline pH with bicarbonate. Carbomer gel is not recommended due to its pH sensitivity. A cellulose-based gel is therefore recommended.
