In the new Magijet formulary, page 166 refers to an ointment based on sulphur at 5 or 10% for the treatment of scabies in the pregnant woman. Can you give me the excipient used

Specify? < br/>

Answer

A preparation with 5% precipitated sulfur in petroleum jelly is an effective treatment for scabies. However, it is very little used because the preparation has an unpleasant odor and stains. Nevertheless, it remains a choice in pregnant women and children. However, one should warn the patient about the persistence of the itching for several weeks and tell him that this itch does not necessarily mean a failure of therapy.
