Potassium Iodide Capsules stick together

We prepare potassium iodide capsules 120mg for nuclear medicine. The capsules will stick to each other when stored, with the addition of one (or several) dry stop (s). Do you have a solution for this?

Answer

There are various odds to reduce the water vapour permeability by hard gelatin capsules. The raw material, which can be the largest amount of water ad (AB) Sorberen is starch but this is hiet in the contexct of iodides unusable. There is also the possibility to pack the capsules into a custom blister pack. It might be easier to test whether a coating (e.g. CAP) would not reduce the absorption of water.
