Preparation method for a phenytoin cream.

Serves in this case for Sudeck syndrome. Basis was not specified. First time doctor prescribes this on the advice of specialist. APB suggested that the base gel be used as PEG or for example Natrosol but it is missing. No existing protocol for this preparation in Belgium. In addition, gabapentin cream or ointment was proposed as an alternative. Fenytoine Crème was already developed by a pharmacy that cooperates with a neuropathic pain center in the Netherlands but this formula is unfortunately patented

Answer

I limit myself to proposing a cream, as this is your glutton.

It is not easy to propose a cream which I am able to find evidence of the efficacy in the literature.

Two creams are described with 5% phenytoin but, unfortunately, Telkenmake uses cream bases of which only the brand name is mentioned and the composition is not   found.

A cream, which can approach the previous but without a doubt simpler,   could be phenytoin 5% in hydrophilic ointment USP. The latter has as composition: Nipagine 25 mg; Nipasol 15 mg; Nalauryl sulfate 1 g; Propylene glycol (or perhaps better glycerin) 12 g; Cetyl alcohol 25 g; Petroleum jelly 25 g and water up to 100 g
