Question
Posted on: March 6 2013Problems by modifying the composition of deptropinecitraat syrup or how a slight difference can be pernicious.
for Deptropinecitraat syrup See the question on the preparation of deptropine citrate syrup. As a result of the marketing of disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, we have modified the formula and we are now using a converted quantity of dinatrium hydrogen phosphate. Also, banana essence was replaced by raspberry essence. Since these changes, we already see a pink precipitation at the bottom of the vial after 1 day. What can we do to remedy this problem?
Answer
- after conversion of disodium hydrogen phosphate 12 aqua (2.61 g) to 2 Aqua (1.3 g) No difference should occur. But maybe the dihydrate is not stable in water content?? It is noted that the solubility of deptropineditrate increases enormously in a phosphate buffer. So maybe it's best to check the pH
- sometimes one establishes a crystallization of Nipagine no nipasol should be added
- if the non-crystallizable sorbitol solution (as now also available) is used, sometimes no clear solution is created
- Perhaps the conversion to raspberry essence is not a good choice. It is said that some of those products are quite acidic. Would also give great loss to omeprazole suspension?????
The formation of a rose precipitation makes me suspect that the problem lies with the raspberry essence.
