Recently we got following preparation: Urea 2 G prednisolone 0.3 g metronidazole 1 G after lauryl sulfate 1 g cetyl alcohol 10 g liquid paraffin 30 g yellow petroleum jelly

10 g
Water AD 100 g < BR/> If we take these quantities, we obtain a clear separation of the 2 phases. We tried to adjust the quantities of the emulsifier and also once added emulsify 83 but without success. The CR è me remained clearly unstable.

Answer

With Arlacel 83 Trying was useless because everything indicates an O/W. I would rather opt for equal parts liquid paraffin and petroleum jelly as described in an article published in the Pharmacists Journal of October 2000.
