Is there an alternative to Arlatone T for the preparation of vitamin D solution in a hospital in Cameroon?

Answer

Arlatone T is the brand name for Polyoxyethylene (40) sorbitol septaoleate. So quite a number of ethylene oxide groups. As a replacement No. 1 I would suggest Cremophor EL but I fear that we should suggest the most universal Solubilizer being Tween 80.

as a formulation I can recommend the following

Calciferol oil solution 2 Milj. IU/G 150mg (or 2.5 g)
Citric acid monohydrate 160mg (or 240mg)
aniseed Essence 8 dr (or 220mg)
potassium sorbate 200mg (or 300mg)
Tween 80 4.0 g (or 12.5 g)
sugar syrup 60.0 g (or 12.5 g)
purified water 50.3 g (or 75.7 g) = 100 ml
U Can possibly replace Ksorbate + citric acid with 200mg sorbic acid, slightly harder to dissolve in water. A preservative such as the NIPA esters is an alternative.
for a small-scale preparation one takes a mortar or bottle, from which the wall with Polysorbate 80 is moistened. Then the anise oil and the Vit D oil are added. It is then added to sugar syrup and mixed slowly to homogenous. Potassium sorbate is dissolved in 50 ml of water and this solution is suddenly brought into the mortar or bottle. It is mixed for five minutes. After this, the Citric acid solution (15 ml) is added in 3 fractions. Eventually, water is replenished.
I suppose that also quantities larger than 100ml can be prepared but try first with 100ml!
If this is too cumbersome and too delisty (we should basically get a clear liquid but remember the Loco & #039; s "You see how they can come in handy, what is now claimed") then it can be switched to an oil solution.
