f. Vaginal creme in tube (+ applicat) < BR/> The ointment base breaks down each time and remains liquid even after increasing the amount of petroleum jelly and Cetomacrogol. The addition of Polysorbate gave a noticeable improvement but should polysorbate be used in vaginal cr ` me? By adding the active ingredients, the ointment seemed to become even more unstable.

Answer

I suggest to try the following composition:
R/glycerol monostearate (= Cutina GMS) 4g
cetostearyl Alcohol 8g
polysorbate 80 7.5 g
White petroleum jelly and liquid. Paraffin wax AA 15g
propylene glycol 10g
water up to 100 g
of this CR è me then the quantity required to obtain 100g is added to the drug mixture.

PS: It is not ruled out that also with Cetomacrogol instead of Tween 80 This composition gives a good result.
