From UZ Gent-haematology we received a prescription for a solution of Beclomethasone dipropionate in oil which oil can be used?

R/Beclomethasone dipropionate 0.1% in oil dt 250ml S/2ml 3 x per day on Melba outside the meal Can beclomethasone Dipropionate be used for oral administration?

Answer

Beclomethasone Dipropionate is a corticosteroid ester and can be administered orally. It is insoluble in water and therefore the use of oil to prepare a dissolving.

If we are overrunning the list of oils, which are reimbursed by the RIZIV, the list is quite limited.

Everything depends on the taste of the person, who has to take the solution smeared on a toast.

Lust the child nuts then may qualify: Sweet almond oil, cocosolie. Very neutral is sunflower oil and Miglyol.

Maybe it is not forbidden to lubricate any chocolate?
