We were given a prescription of a hemorrhoids cream with following composition:

Hamamelis liquid Fat Solusb extract 8g
Wild chestnut Water soluble extract 4g
Cutina 9g
cetyl alcohol 0.5 g
Lanoline 0.5 g
triethanolamine 0.5 g
sorbitol 70% 4g
Alpha tocopherol 0.1 g
nipagine 0.12 g
distilled Water AD 100g < br/> The cream is far too liquid and is not homogeneous. Another problem that arises is the fact that wild horse chestnut liquid extract is no longer available. Can you possibly replace this with the mother tincture?

Answer

Add 0.7 g Triethanolamine and 6g stearic acid. If still insufficient some extra stearic acid. Prepare 100g cream in a tarred recipient. If you use wild chestnut incture then you will have to weigh 40g. I would mix these with soft heating dry vapors on 10g starch and the dry precipitate then blend with 8g Hamamelis extract. Mix this mixture with cr'me up to 100g.
