What is the formula of chlorpheniramine syrup?

The physician prescribes: chlorpheniramine syrup, without further explanation. As a posology he writes: 2 x 1/2 coffee spoon per day. What is the correct formula (EVT preparation method) of this and is this the correct dose for a child of 22 months?

Answer

I think it is easier not to have to work with half coffee spoons and therefore have the amount of chlorpheniramine in the syrup immediately adapted to a child of 2 years.

The composition is as follows: Chlorpheniraminemaleate 20 mg, sugar syrup 90 g; citric acid 20 mg; Nacitrate   48 mg; Banana-Aroma 40 mg, Nipagine 100 mg     and water up to 100 ml

I would dissolve in 100 ml water: chlorpheniraminemaleate 100 mg, citric acid 100 mg; Nacitrate 240 mg and banana aroma 200mg

of this concentrate one takes 20ml and then adds the sugar syrup and the nipagine and brings on volume (100 ml)

The pH should be between 5 à 5.2.

The dosage is a coffee spoon   2X per day
