What is the shelf life of argyrol nasal drops?

We prepare Argyrol nasal droplets as follows: 1.38 g glucose + 26g Aqua dist Heat and dissolve 0.3 g Argyrol and replenish up to 30ml; Filling in brown bottle with pipette.
during which period can these nasal drops be used after a first opening of the vial?

Answer

Normally, Argyrol nasal drops are prepared ex tempore when submitting a prescription or upon request by the CLI ë NT. Because of this long-prescribed method, data on preservation are not available. You seem ï interested in the stock of this preparation. So I do not know how the solution will evolve when saving. In any case, I would change your composition and not use glucose (OSE sugar) but call on Mannitol. After all, glucose is oxidized by silver ions which in turn form a silver mirror. Furthermore, I would filter the solution by a sterile 0.22 or 0.47 micrometer membrane filter. According to certain data, this should be able? Herewith, all germs are excluded; This is recommended if the solution is kept in stock. The filtrate is collected aseptic in a pre-sterilized vial. I would also like to say that Argyrol can only be solved in a cooled solution.
Studies on the preservation capacity of Argyrol are not available. So I would limit the usage mine to 1 month in analogy with eyedrops.
