What are these terms based on? Are there studies, publications available on this subject?

as far as the shelf life after opening of antiseptics is concerned, there are no publications to my knowledge. I have been asked to do this at the Department of Hospitals, but they also do not know about this. Prof. Reybrouck has ever done tests for us regarding contamination of aqueous solutions after opening, and so we have come to a shelf life of 2 weeks after opening (1 week earlier). For the alcoholic antiseptics No shelf life is made after opening.
