When preparing compound Menthol cream NF VI, we always obtain a milk instead of a cream.

What do we do wrong, or what should be improved on the formula so that this preparation can succeed? < br/>

Answer

When I add all the active ingredients I find 15% liquid organic products in which cetyl alcohol and white wax are soluble or at least partially. Consequently, a melting point reduction occurs. I would advise you to double the amount of cetyl alcohol (perhaps even better cetostearyl alcohol) and to bring the wax to 1 g. If the consistency Is too strong, the cetostearyl alcohol can be reduced to 10 g.
