Which solvent for a solution with 80% phenol.

Liquid phenol has been unavailable for several months, so it will have to be prepared with phenol crystalline. Normally, phenol solution is prepared with water, but that is only 2% phenol. 80% seems to us very much, but it was confirmed by the doctor. In Martindale state that phenol dissolves in ether, alcohol, glycerol and Oli ë N. The solution would be used to loosen the nail bed. What do you recommend as a solvent for phenol?

Answer

Liquid phenol or Phenolum liquefactum contains 10 D phenol plus 1   D water. That's about 90% phenol. I think that a 80% solution in water should also be possible. I read that even pure phenol (presumably liquid phenol) with a cotton tige is applied.
