Why does the next gel drain? Phenylbutazone 5g Lidoca ï ne. HCl 2g amylsalicylate 1g methylsalicylate 1g Carbomeergel AD 100g

This gel is flushed out (even after adding NaOH (for alkaline pH) and possibly with Macrogol 400 for friction of the active substances).

Answer

LidocaineHCl is probably the cause. You write that you are adding NaOH but is the amount sufficient to convert lidocaineHCl to lidocaine base? Therefore, use the base instead of the HCl salt. Lidocaine can be solved in the salicylates. Perhaps it must be emulated to not float over during the stocking. Question ' The gel breaks when blending the raw materials and becomes very liquid. Can this gel remain stable with these raw materials or is another ointment base appropriate? ' Addresses this problem. Trometamaol can be used to set the gel formation; Macrogol 400 seems superfluous to me?
