Problems with the intake of Sinemet by child.

A child of almost 6 years of age must take 1/5 of the normal dose of Sinemet. So far, she took this in the form of capsules, whose contents are mixed with applesauce or yogurt to make it taste better, because the child always cares about when to take it. (This can of course also be a result of the active products themselves) Now the question is whether we could make a syrup of this. The solubility is apparently not good so it will have to be a suspension. Are you familiar with the stability and possibly a good tasting basis?
or is there a way we could give the capsules a different flavour?

Answer

I can hardly believe that a suspension is the solution. After all, it will taste as bad as the opened capsules.
making a stable suspension is probably not a big problem but finding the right flavor is a much more difficult task in the Officina. You can find out which flavors are at your disposal. To add to capsules Aroma & #039; s, the choice is more than minimal. Aroma & #039; s under Solid form are not available in my opinion. Therefore, my suggestion of suppositories. Of course in consultation with the physician because the bioavailability could differ.
